Spring is here!

We’ll have to see what the groundhog has to say… but at least our Spring Schedule is in force! If you have not filled in a new registration form, please be sure to do so! Welcome to all new and returning students!

Classes Begin Tuesday, January 31st & continue 18 weeks thru Monday, June 4th, 2012. Spring tuition is due by March 15th. Be sure to mark your calendars for the Spring Student Performance June 1st & 2nd at the College of Mount Saint Joseph Auditorium! (Everyone gets to be in this one!)

There are a couple of changes from the fall schedule and one that was made after the spring flyers went to print, so here is the complete schedule for easy reference! If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at (513) 481-0092 or contact Laura Hughes at (513) 410-0277.

Mondays

6:00 – 6:30 Pre- Ballet (ages 4 to 6)
6:30 – 7:30 Ballet I (ages 6 to 10)

7:30 – 8:30 Ballet II

Tuesdays

6:30 – 7:00 Pre- Ballet (ages 4 to 6)
7:00 – 9:00 Intermediate Advanced w/ pointe (Thomas Bell)

Wednesdays

5:00 – 7:00 Bridge to Kinderballet (Conni Berns)

7:00 – 8:30 Intermediate w/ beginning pointe (Laura Baresel)

Thursdays

5:30 – 6:30 Ballet I (Elizabeth B/ Sara S)

6:30 – 7:00 Pre-ballet (ages 4 to 6)

7:00 – 9:00 Intermediate /Adv Ballet w/ pointe

Saturdays

9:00 – 10:15 Bridge to Intermediate w/ beginning pointe
10:30 – 1:00 Kinderballet Rehearsal

SCHEDULE is subject to change based on enrollment. Additional classes can form if a minumum of 5 students is met.

Schedule changes for January 2012

Dear Students and Parents:

Unfortunately our AVO semesters do not coincide with the schedules of our colllege age teachers,

Both Anna and Elizabeth will start their new college semesters in January, so we have to make some slight adjustments to the Monday and Tuesday classes.

The Monday schedule will change to the following for Jan. 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th.

Pre-Ballet 6:00-6:30pm

Ballet I 6:30-7:30pm

Teens and Adults 7:30-9:00pm

(The only time change is for the pre-ballet class)

The Tuesday schedule will remain the same for Jan. 3rd and Jan. 17th. Sara will teach on these days.

The Ballet I class for Jan 10th and Jan. 24th will switch to Thurs. Jan. 12th and Jan. 26th at the same time- 5:30-6:30pm.

The Pre-ballet and Intermediate/Advanced classes will NOT change.

New Ballet for Spring 2012

AvO Kinderballet is excited to produce a brand new ballet for Spring 2012: Snow White and the Seven Dwarves! All Kinderballet are encouraged to be back at rehearsal Saturday, January 7th to get a start on things. Any other student wishing to perform with the Kinderballet should contact Laura Hughes at 513 410-0277 for more information on how to join.

The ballet is based on the German fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. It will include music by German composers and all new choreography by the AvO Ballet Team!

Holiday Break

There will be no classes from December 20th through Monday, January 2nd, 2012. Classes will resume Tuesday, January 3rd 2012.

First Semester continues through Monday, January 30th 2012. New semester begins Tuesday, January 31st, 2012. We do accept registration at any time. January is a great time to bring a friend to try a lesson!

NEW this Fall! Mommie & Me Pre-Ballet

AVO Ballet is pleased to add a new class option to our fall 2011 offering. Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. we will be offering a special pre-ballet class for students and Mommie too! Of course Granma, Auntie, or a special friend are also welcome! The class will accept students younger than age 4– ages 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 are welcome. The class will be taught by Sara Shayeson. Sara has been with the AvO Ballet family for years as a student, company soloist, teacher and rehearsal coach. Sara is now proud mother of her own baby ballerinas Megan & Sofia. Class fee will be the same as regular pre-ballet. Sign up now!

Summer Classes 2011

Save the dates! Just so you know Mrs. B is already in communication with guest artists Jonnie-Lynn Jacobs-Percer, Steve Beirens, and Rene Mitcheo among other guest artists and favorites to put together a wonderful summer session. Mrs. B will be teaching Intermediate classes and Conni is already planning a special course to include the Lisa Howell Perfect Pointe Material.

AvO Summer session begins June 20 and will run 8 weeks through August 12.

Additional “Intersession Classes” will be held from August 15 – September 2 for Intermediate/ Advanced levels.

Presenting Our Winter 2010 Performance Schedule!

We are pleased to present the performance schedule for our Winter 2010 production of The Nutcracker. This year’s production is co-directed by Laura Baresel and Anna Frey. Rehearsals have progressed nicely and we can well promise a wonderful production!

This year we are including a special opportunity for young children ages 4 through 10 (or younger if accompanied by an adult or responsible siblinng) to join the dancers on stage during the performance. This special opportunity is a continuation of the Imagination Festivals begun this past summer with the goal of giving older students a chance to guide and mentor, and younger students a wonderful creative experience. Each performance will begin with a 10 to 15 minute pre-show event giving participants a chance to learn and rehearse their special cameo appearance.
