This is slightly shortened. In this scene Carabosse takes revenge on Princess Aurora with the gift of a spindle. When Aurora pricks her finger she falls asleep for 100 years.

Scheherazade

This is a very rough idea for how the piece may be shortened. Choreography is by Michel Folkine. Music is by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. It was originally produced for the Ballet Russe in 1910.

We take what we do very seriously and strive to teach classical technique that promotes physical health and prevents injuries. We also strive to feed the “artistic soul” through beautiful music, movement, and storytelling. While the student may think they are just “playing balloons,” we know they are practicing “ballon” or that elusive quality that allows the dancer to float effortlessly in jumps.
